Tried multiple times to contact customer service with no response other than an email saying they received my email. I keep getting a message saying “not authenticated” when I try to view a film. App tells me I need to log in and connect through my cable provider, but it won’t redirect me to the cable provider.

Arbitrary canceling of connection/authorization to view movies previously accessed. No remedy in app. Frustrating.

PLEASE update the app to fix the authentication bug!!!! I miss watching the films on demand via the app. Resorting to DVR for upcoming movies but I can’t access the ones I didn’t already record because the app is not working.

This app is so bad. I have Comcast and stream with Apple TV. TCM app will work for a few days then I have to re login and half the time it doesn’t work. Very frustrating. Have redownloaded app, restarted Comcast box as well as Apple TV. Nothing works

App is broken

Was my fav app but not anymore. Works fine on iPhone and Fire Stick but will not work on IPad anymore. My cable and internet provider have tried to help but their tech support tells me it’s a TCM app problem. I’ve uninstalled and then reinstalled many times times but still pops up not authenticated and does not let me sign in and just keeps buffering. It will not link to my cable provider. It use to send a code to link you to provider but that does not happen anymore. So strange it’s only on my iPad. It’s been this way for several months now. Totally useless app on my iPad. I’ve written TCM and they keep saying use our help center which like the app is useless. Please fix this with a TCM update. You have not had an update in 2 years. Hire better tech people and fix it.

I watch all shows and movies on my iPad and iPhone. Please add a stand alone app that does not require a TV package!

People who don’t have regular cable would love to watch TCM too. I’d pay a high fee to be able to Watch

Please fix this app. Uninstalling and reinstalling is not resolving the error message that I am not an authorized user even though I definitely have a cable subscription which includes TCM.

I have streaming apps that have kept me logged in for years, this ap forces me to verify at least once a week. I like TCM but this ap is awful. This ap makes you verify almost every time you try to watch. Very poorly thought out. Update. It doesn’t like my password now. Seriously, MLB and Netflix were updated when I got a new TV and not again since. This app makes you verify tediously, every time you try to watch. Maybe TCM should hire a tech pro.

Love this channel, but this app? Not so much. It asks you to prove you’re an actual cable/satellite subscriber & re-authenticate every couple weeks — which has varying levels of frustration depending on what you’re using to watch the app. Do you really need to be THAT demanding of your fans, TCM? Also, now, I can’t just turn on CC. It needs to be turned on for EACH individual movie. Annoying.

I have a cable subscription with TCM but the App won’t let me sign in or watch any movies. Totally useless.

Will not allow me to watch TCM on my iPhone.. but I’m watching it on DIRECTV right now. So please fix the iPhone app! I would give 5 stars for DIRECTV but iPhone a 1 because it starts up and will not run. Send me an email when fixed.

Disappointed. Three times in the last month app will not work on the tv. Stops working and then mysteriously will work. This is my favorite channel so disappointed. This is the worse app, does not work, retry error, and then when it finally works you have to jump through hoops to get it to work on the tv. Then it works for two days and locks you out again. Clear the cache clear the space, allow permission, delete app start again then you have to restart the fire tv and the. A day later it will work and you have to activate code, works two or three days, and back to the same . Couple that with the fact the programming stinks after Robert Oswald died. Good ole America, let’s ruin something good.

Suddenly won’t “authenticate”. My favorite app no longer works! Great service; terrible app

The app has completely stopped working for iOS. When asked by the app to provide the name of the TV provider the app freezes. Somebody needs to get on the ball over there because this has been happening over and over again modern technology. Modern technology provide provides many solutions for problem there’s no excuse for it to persist the way it does.

What happened? You all don’t want me watching on a bigger screen? Think about this, young nerd app makers. The people that like this channel are probably in the age category that need glasses to watch it on their app or iPad. So when w try to screen mirror or send to our tv with a dock plug, screen is dark. What is the purpose to block extending to our tv to have a little comfort and watch what we already pay for? Can’t use the app unless I subscribe to TCM with a cable package. What more do you want? Tell us.

I enjoy the app, but it stopped working about December 5,2024. When I try to open it, it just won’t open. The cursor just spins. It’s been doing that for several days.

This application and the spectrum application to view live TV do not work well together. They compete for authentication of my expensive subscription. If I go from TCM to the spectrum app and then come back to TCM, it will tell me that I’m not authenticated to watch TCM. I’m paying for this and it’s expensive and it should just work. Reboot and quitting the app usually works, but this time it doesn’t. I know if I call tech-support it’ll tell me to delete and reinstall the application. All for $360 a month. And what idiot designed this application so that it does not link to the database of articles on TCM about an individual film. Idiotic but right now I’m mainly just worried cause I can’t watch anything.

I love TCM that’s why I want to use the app. Unfortunately there is a bug that will stop recognizing the tv provider at some point and will show a Not Authorized error when trying to access a movie. The current solution is to uninstall the app and reinstall it. This usually resets the app and it and will work for about 1-2 movies until it stops recognizing the tv provider. Can someone spend a few hours or maybe during the next hackathon, try to fix it?

Is this some kind of April Fools joke? How are people supposed to search for movies if there is no SEARCH FUNCTION?

I recently moved and we stream at the new house. There is not a way I can USE THE WATCH TCM APP OR STREAM online WITHOUT CABLE!!!!!! WHY DID YOU DO THAT? I’ve tried over and over again and unless you pay the $170 for cable you will not get TCM. I want TCM to allow us to pay them directly for their content. I lived on TCM before, I am have withdrawals!!!! Please please someone help me get access!!!

Won’t launch on iPad.

It’s Aug. 16, 2024 and the sign in screen for Spectrum Cable STILL does not open when I click on SPECTRUM. Is anyone paying attention? Here is my previous complaint: From the dates of the previous reviews, the fact that the Watch TCM app does not work has been known for months. Ridiculous. I finally get my cable company to put TCM back on my lineup at Spectrum only to find out that your app has not worked for months. The app says Warner Bros. has been working on it but that cannot be true because a software engineer should fix it in one day. HINT: We cannot sign in with our User or Password because your list of cable carriers will not engage (cannot click on). Time to fire some people and take care of business. Imagine if a bank’s ATM machines didn’t work for months and they didn’t fix them. They would lose all their customers just like I quit Wells Fargo for their incompetence.

First I have to wave for my rights privacy with 20 page terms of agreement. Then download it open it and it didn’t do anything. All I got is a black screen.

iOS app will not allow choice of Spectrum provider so it is useless for that provider. However, the tvOS app does allow you to chose Spectrum and it works. The iOS app hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It is long past due for an upgrade!

Great movies but app is awful. Seems to work randomly. No support available so have to go through all the guessing. Delete app and re download, log out and login, reboot device. Same on all my devices. Oh well just cancel before I get another bill.

This app hasn’t been updated in over a year completely useless. You have to sign in every single time you use it, which is a pain in the butt you have to go online You have to give the code that’s on your TV. You have to click your provider. It’s really a pain in the butt. completely useless.Delete it

Love TCM but the Roku app has the slowest fast forward I’ve ever seen. Some titles show they’ve expired when they are available which makes managing the watchlist a headache.

We enjoyed TCM back in the days of a satellite dish subscription, but this isn’t available as an ala carte channel; instead, it can only be seen with large and expensive packages we have little use for. Fortunately, much of their content is available on other streaming platforms with a bit of searching. Make this a standalone or a reasonably priced add-on to other streaming services and we’ll sign up in a heartbeat. Until then, there is plenty to watch elsewhere. Good luck with this business model.

As society moves away from CABLE TV and over to streaming apps TCM refuses to update its app and outdated mode of being tethered to cable TV. This is not a “free app” if you don’t have cable. I have cable and cannot use the app! I did however get bounced into a fake help website that wanted my credit card. THIS APP DOES NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY! Worst ever!!!

Please offer a stand-alone streaming service. There are many of us without cable that would gladly pay a monthly fee for access to your library. I’ll 5 star you when that happens, thanks. Edit: years later they’re still willing to die on that hill of cable TV. I’m still not going back to cable, ever.

This app lacks any responsive customer support. It forces you to reauthenticate every two weeks and does not recognize your stored account credentials. There is no search, and if you close the app mid film you will have to go looking for the film and either restart or guess at where you left off. The latter being extremely difficult on AppleTV.

Can’t close the app for 5 seconds without having to go through clunky sign in process

Used to have a new selection constantly updating but seems to have not added anything last several days, no way to save progress when it does work which is goofy

I have had this app for years, and I wonder why they never set up Chromecast in the app so that we can throw the film up to the TV. Sometimes it’s tough to watch on smartphone or a tablet. Please take care of this.

I delete and reload this app and it still will not play the movies. It pops up with the service provider screen yet nothing happens when I click on my provider and the movie won’t play. Not impressed.

This app is advertised as free, and technically it is free to download. However, it is NOT free to use.

I have 4 Apple TV 4k’s and the Watch TCM app works fine on 3 of them. On the 4th one, the app opens to a black screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app too many times to count and still having this issue. Not sure why it just won’t work on this one Apple TV when it’s the same exact model as the other 3 where the app works fine. Doesn’t help that the Apple TV app hasn’t been updated since September 2022 which is outrageous!

Generally Love this app providing availability to watch these movies. Thank you. I just thought I should report that in the past week (January 5-10 2024) there have been 3 movies that would not run. They were: Sex and the Single Girl, His Kind of Woman, and Man’s Castle. They would either get stuck in a loop on the TCM icon, or they would play for just a minute or two and then freeze, or not run at all. I have occasionally run into movies that would not run, but strange that it is 3 in one week.

The app has problems working correctly. One day you can watch a movie, the next day you can’t watch a movie. Amateur website/streaming technicians -

I’m trying to watch some of the movies on your watch TCM app and they will not play. It just keeps buffering buffering buffering. I tried watching on two iPhones. One through Wi-Fi and one through cell data.In the past, I have not had a problem, and this is very frustrating.

We are dropping our cable direct tv in 2024 and I will miss TCM and the old movies
